A Dozen Couplets for a Dozen Years

Hello blog readers, this is Dave.  I have temporarily hijacked this site to post a response to Heather's very nice tribute on this, our twelfth Anniversary.

A Dozen Couplets

A dozen years have come and gone
My love for you has moved beyond

The stratosphere and out into
The solar system, yes, it’s true

Past Venus’ bright stunning show
(which pales next to your radiant glow)

On by the Martian desert sand
(e’en there our life would be so grand)

And out on to the outer rim
Of Sol’s influence our love won’t dim

And while our love expands beyond
The stars and sky, my sights are on

Our life and home right here below
Right now so filled with joys you know

A dozen cookies I should make
For your soft lips to then partake

A dozen times we can hold hands
And talk of mem’rys and our plans

A dozen hugs so full and warm
To feel at home within your arms

A dozen years of smiles and mirth
And to them you have added worth

Beyond all measure in my life,
I am so glad you are my wife

I am crying again after reading your poem. You know how I love a great poem and this one is wonderful. It really makes me happy to see the great bond you two share. LOL Mom
