Last weekend my Cousin, Jenny, got married in Downtown Indianapolis. This event has been in the works for over a year and was incredible and so fun. Ady was asked to be a Flower girl in the Wedding and the boys were asked to be Bell Ringers. I had never heard of Bell Ringers, but it was so cute. They came down the aisle right before the bride ringing bells to announce her coming and then when the Just Married couple was ready to leave the church the Bell Ringers come out ahead of them ringing the bells to announce their departure. My sister, Cara, and were asked to do a reading at the wedding ceremony.
Our weekend was jam packed starting Friday with a Groom's Golf outing (that Dave was not able to attend due to work and the boys were in school) and a Bridesmaid luncheon that Ady and I attended. Then Friday evening was the Rehearsal followed by a wonderful Rehearsal Dinner at the Skyline Restaurant in Downtown Indy. We stayed all weekend in a Hotel downtown that was just built, so the rooms were all new and gorgeous. Saturday morning we were up early to start getting ready for the big day. The little girls in the wedding (3 Flower girls and 3 Junior Bridesmaids) all gathered at my Sister-in-law's house were we had a hired hair dresser to do all of their hair as well as my Grandmother's and mine and my sister's. We had a fun time getting all primped and ready before we headed to the church for pictures and the Big event. There were lots of little boys in the wedding too. My boys were the 2 Bell Ringers, and there were 3 Junior Groomsmen and 2 Ring Bearers. (All cousins and nieces and nephews of the couple - they did a nice job including all of the family in the event.)
They had this cute platter made that had a caricature of all the Bridal Party. Super cute!
After the Wedding we all headed to the Indiana Historical Society for a beautiful Reception. It was right out of a fairy tale down to the last detail. My Cousin and her Husband spent months taking dance lessons and did a fantastic Ballroom dance for their first dance together. At the end of the song, rose petals rained from the ceiling. It was enchanting!
As you can imagine, Ady and Tayden were exhausted by the end of the night, so we didn't make it until the end. Kyler stuck it out and danced the night away while the rest of us headed back to the Hotel. Mys sister brought him to us after it was over and he told us all about the Bride and Groom leaving the reception in a Horse drawn carriage.
The next morning we swam in the hotel pool before checking out and heading to one last event. A brunch with everyone at the Hard Rock Cafe before all the guests made their way home.
Now our house is filled with light purple wedding swag and we have lots of fun video and pictures to share, so stay tuned! I will add more as I get more time.
