Wednesday Whimsy: How to be the most popular kid in 5th Grade for only $7.99

Step 1Find a Coupon for 20% off at Gordman's
Step 2Drive to your friendly neighborhood Gordman's
Step 3Locate an Angry Birds T-Shirt in your Size
Step 4Wear your Angry Birds T-Shirt to School and prepare to be wildly popular!!

Here is Kyler in his Angry Birds Shirt.  He had been asking me for one for months and I could not find one his size that I was willing to spend the money on.  I finally found one at Gordman's and used my coupon.  The first day that he wore it to school, he came home and said "Everyone loved my shirt!  All day people kept coming up to me and talking to me!"

Optional Step 5: Take an angry birds snack in your lunch!
I made this Angry Birds snack from a Babybel cheese.  I cut off some of the wax coating  and then added Edible Eyes, a carrot cut in a beak shape and some Nori cut into angry eyebrow shapes.  I saw the idea for this here.  Their's is way cuter, but I made this one one handed while holding a screaming baby, so I think it turned out pretty good!

Wednesday Whimsy: I've got my Eye on you!

Evy got a hold of one of the Googly Eyes that we had been decorating with and stuck it on her face.
I couldn't resist re-positioning it and taking some pictures ;)

Wednesday Whimsy: Epic Rap Battle Jr.

A few months ago we had a Movie Night at church. Groups were invited to put together videos and submit them and then we all watched them with popcorn!  This was the 3rd year in a row for this activity and we always enjoy it.   The boys decided that they wanted to make a video for it this year.  We have really been enjoying watching videos by Rhett and Link on YouTube, so the boys decided to do a lip sync to one of their songs. Ady is also in the video as well as a few friends.
Here is the result.  Enjoy!

It is based on Rhett and Link's version here.

Wednesday Whimsy: What's in your Lunch?

This is part of Tayden's lunch yesterday.  We have been doing fun, creative lunches.  I bought some Bento Box supplies to make our lunches more exciting. I made a sandwich with white bread on one side and wheat on the other.  I used a train cookie cutter and then some small circle cutters for the wheels.  I flipped the wheels over so the wheat side showed to give it some contrast.  With the leftover sandwich bits I cut a rectangle for a smoke stack and some flower shapes for smoke.  The little bear is an animal pick for Bento box lunches.  We also cut out some fruit for him in fun shapes and made a star shaped boiled egg.  I will post more about those later.

I have a pinterest board with other fun ideas here if you are interested.  There are some awesome ideas!

Enjoy!

Wednesday Whimsy: Does your Toilet Have Eyes?

A few weeks ago, Dave was out of town for a few days for a business trip.  While he was gone the kids thought it would be fun to play a trick on him.  I had this fun pack of giant googly eyes, so they kids thought it would be fun to put them on the houseplants. After we finished that they wanted to add Googly Eyes to more things so they started looking around the house.  We ended up with eyes on the shower door, on shoes in Dave's closet and, my personal favorite, the Toilet.  This one just cracked me up, so we have left it up.  I know it is a bit bizarre, but everyday when I see it, it makes me laugh.
