Family and Flowers

I love spring! We were out enjoying the deck and the flowers and decided to take some pictures.

My silly girl

One day Ady came out dressed up like this. She loves to play dress up and is always accessorizing before we go anywhere. She carries around a purse filled with necessary things like band aids, pretzels, crayons and paper, hair things and jewelry and of course Pollys galore!!(Polly Pocket dolls)
I love my silly girl!! She is so much fun to have around!

YW Fund Raiser

This spring, I was asked to be the Young Women's Camp Specialist at church. I help the girl's ages 12 - 18 prepare for Girl's Camp, I attend camp with them and help out at camp and I help the girls raise funds to go to the camp. For the fund raiser this year we decided to have a dinner and auction. Each of the 9 girls contributed 3 things to be auctioned. They each auctioned a service such as babysitting, piano lessons, housecleaning, dog walking, etc. They each also contributed a dessert to be auctioned as well as an item that they created. I was so impressed with the things the girls made. We had a craft day a few weeks before to help them work on their items.

Here is some of the desserts and the gift certificates for the service items.

This is most of the handmade items. There were artful photos, embroidered wall quotes, a knitted scarf, an incredible painting with a bonnet that went with it, coasters and more. I made a tutu and hair garland to contribute to the auction as well.

Here is the rest of the desserts

For the dinner we had Hawaiian Haystacks and the girls each had a table that they waited on.

I decorated the room with a Hawaiian theme and everything turned out great. Everyone had a really good time and we raised an incredible amount of money!!

Happy Mother's Day

For Mother's day I had the kids decorate a planter with markers for my mom.

Then they each picked out a different type of flower to plant in it. She loved it!

Every Year the boys go with Dave to a Fathers and Sons Campout with some other guys from church. They make hotdogs and smores and just have a good time hanging out.

This year the weather was pretty good. It was a little chilly, but at least there was no rain!

Tayden's class took a field trip to the Indianapolis Zoo.

Dave took the day off from work to go with him. They had a nice day together. Dave took a few pictures with his phone since he didnt want to lug the camera around.

Happy Birthday to Me!

I had a lovely birthday this year. Several of my friends stopped by to give me presents and wish me a happy birthday and I had a nice party with family.

Dave and the kids had a whole list of ways to wish me a happy birthday. Some of the things on the list were cupcakes, flowers, jewelry, a poem, a ballet performance, a giant Hershey's kiss and hugs. Tayden gives everyone a giant Hershey's kiss for their birthday. He thinks they are fun to get. Dave wrote a very lovely poem for me and typed in a pretty font. (I know its blurry, if you really want to read it I will have to type it out more clearly)

The kids picked out some petunias that Dave potted for the front porch

One of my friends got a pretty plant for the yard for me adn made an awesome neck warmer pillow. I also recieved some cute earrings from a couple different people, an electric can opener, a cute little vase, a funky purse, and a recipe book (personal hand written recipes from one of the best cooks I know!)

It was a lovely birthday and I felt very loved!!

He's ready for his close up

For Kyler's 8th Birthday (last december) we gave him a digital camera. He has absolutely loved it. He fills up his memory card and uses up the battery life so fast I can hardly believe it. He will take fun sequences of shots with his legos and make little stop action movies. It is really fun and I am glad he is being so creative. He also takes a lot of pictures of Ady and Tayden. When we go somewhere where we have to wait for a while, his camera keeps him entertained for a very long time. Here is a little sequence he took of Tayden while we were waiting for Ady at Ballet that I thought were cute. (Ok, Tayden is just always cute! But still)
